Speaker of the House Kills Film Tax Credit Bill

  • In 2008, the Film Tax Credit in Arizona resulted in the creation of over 10,000 jobs and $43 million added to coffers of the State of Arizona.
  • Despite the objective results of 2008; despite having been passed by the House and the Senate, the Speaker of the House took the unilaterlal action of failing to schedule the Bill for a final vote by the full state legislature.
  • The short-sighted (and hopefully short-termed) Speaker has eliminated a source of goodpaying jobsĀ during a time of economic distress!
  • PLEASE let your local representative know that you are outraged by such an anti-democratic tactice that smacks more of the Politburo thanĀ a state legislature of the United States.
